JSC RIKON has taken part in in what the company is calling “the largest trade mission in Latvia’s history to Germany, held from September 23 to 26, 2025, aimed at developing and strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.”
Expansion of JSC RIKON’s Operations in Germany
JSC RIKON is actively working to develop its business in Germany and its equipment exports to the German market. In 2024 it signed an agreement with Brunnhuber Krane GmbH to “establish a joint venture and won a tender to supply a Barge-RMG container gantry crane with a lifting capacity of 41-47 tons to BEHALA (Berliner Hafen- und Lagerhausgesellschaft mbH), the operator of Berlin’s largest inland port, Westhafen. The equipment, intended for operation in the city’s central district, is currently in the production stage in Riga, Latvia. Simultaneously, RIKON is participating in several other tenders for the supply of Double Jib Level Luffing cranes in Germany,” JSC RIKON said.

Brunnhuber Krane GmbH’s Expertise and Recent Deliveries
Brunnhuber Krane GmbH is part of the Teichmann Group and is well known in Europe for overhead and gantry cranes. Most of its production is for industrial cranes, but the company has supplied overhead cranes for container handling. In 2024 Brunnhuber delivered a fully automated gantry crane on a fixed steel structure to the Swiss company Thommen-Furler Group. It has also manufactured RMGs for the Hoyer Group previously.
As part of the trade mission JSC RIKON’s representatives – Council Chairman Inal Akhba and Economics Director Alina Deimonta – held working meetings and had the opportunity to interact with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, Evika Siliņa, and the Minister of Economics, Viktors Valainis. “Such events serve as a valuable platform for direct dialogue between business and government, enabling discussions on current challenges, sharing successes, and jointly identifying solutions to strengthen the export potential of Latvian enterprises,” RIKON said.
“As a gesture of transparency and to showcase its production capabilities, RIKON’s representatives invited Prime Minister Evika Siliņa and Minister of Economics Viktors Valainis to attend the ceremonial shipment of fully assembled Double Jib Level Luffing cranes from the Riga Port territory, scheduled for the end of October 2025. This event will serve as a clear demonstration of the company’s advanced technology and export capabilities,” the company added.
“Participation in the mission and ongoing projects in Germany confirm JSC “RIKON”‘s status as a dynamically developing international company capable of competing in one of Europe’s most demanding markets.”
