RIKON designed, manufactured and supplied an RPS-640-40 Double Jib Level Luffing portal crane for Batumi Sea Port on Georgia’s Black Sea coast. The official customer was Batumi Oil Terminal, wholly owned by KazTransOil (KazMunayGas group), which holds the exclusive rights to manage the port and leased the crane to Batumi Sea Port.
With a 40-tonne lifting capacity and a 32-metre outreach, it is RIKON’s fourth crane at the port: the collaboration began in 2009 with a tender for the first portal crane, and the first three cranes were ordered directly by the port.

The Challenge
Batumi Sea Port, managed by Batumi Oil Terminal, was expanding its cargo-handling capacity and needed an additional modern portal crane to raise productivity in dry cargo operations.
The Solution
RIKON delivered an RPS-640-40 Double Jib Level Luffing portal crane with a 40-tonne lifting capacity, a 32-metre outreach and an A8 crane duty classification. Ordered by Batumi Oil Terminal and leased to Batumi Sea Port, the crane joined three RIKON cranes already in operation at the port and increased its handling capacity.
Project Significance
The delivery was RIKON’s fourth crane at Batumi Sea Port and continued a collaboration that began in 2009: the first three cranes were ordered by the port itself, and the fourth by Batumi Oil Terminal, which manages it. A sustained presence at one of Georgia’s key Black Sea ports strengthens RIKON’s position in the Black Sea and Caspian region.
