RIKON designed, manufactured and supplied two 40-tonne rail-mounted gantry cranes for the Valencia-Font de Sant Lluís intermodal terminal in Spain.

The Challenge
The Valencia-Font de Sant Lluís intermodal terminal, operated by ADIF, required more advanced approaches to heavy equipment operation, with growing demand for automation and improved safety within Spain’s state-managed logistics network.
The Solution
RIKON deployed and commissioned its proprietary RROS (RIKON Remote Operation System) on two 40-tonne RMG container cranes, connecting each crane to a dedicated remote workstation. Operators now manage multi-tonne machinery with maximum accuracy from ergonomic control consoles located in a comfortable office environment, instead of directly on the cranes.
Project Significance
The successful launch of RROS in Valencia marks a significant milestone for RIKON, placing the company among a select group of global manufacturers capable of both producing heavy-lift equipment and designing and implementing comprehensive high-tech IT solutions for it. The project forms part of RIKON’s broader global strategy to automate logistics processes.
