RIKON designed, manufactured and supplied two RPS-1100 portal cranes for a leading Turkish industrial group, destined for a specialised high-throughput marine terminal. Each crane offers a 50-tonne lifting capacity and a 36-metre outreach, and is built around a robust lattice-style portal structure.
Manufactured and assembled at RIKON’s facility in the Port of Riga, the cranes were loaded fully assembled onto a heavy-lift vessel, allowing the customer to put them into operation shortly after arrival.
The project reinforces RIKON’s growing presence in Turkey’s port sector and its ability to deliver heavy, ready-to-operate equipment to international industrial terminals.

The Challenge
A leading Turkish industrial group required heavy-duty portal cranes for a specialised marine terminal handling up to 14.5 million tonnes of cargo per year and serving vessels of up to 110,000 DWT. The cranes had to combine high lifting capacity with long-term durability and low maintenance, and to reach the site ready to enter service with minimal downtime.
The Solution
The project strengthened RIKON’s growing presence in Turkey’s port sector, following its earlier crane deliveries to the İsdemir steel works. Shipping two 430-tonne portal cranes in fully assembled condition demonstrated the capabilities of the dedicated assembly berth at RIKON’s Riga facility and the company’s ability to deliver heavy, ready-to-operate lifting equipment to major international industrial terminals.
